Christmas 2009The cousins...
Ali, Caleb, Riley
Rian, Emmie, Katie, Grace
(we are missing Leah, she was a bit too fussy to put up with the photo session)

Look at those adorable kiddos of mine!!
Leave it to Katie to spice it up a bit:)
My mom got Emmie to not suck her thumb by telling her to pray! How cute is that!?

Psalm 45: 10-11

10 Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear:
Forget your people and your father's house.

11 The king is enthralled by your beauty;
honor him, for he is your lord.

Fieldtrip

Today there was too much to do.
I needed to get my snow tires on before the mad rush at the tire store once the snow flies.
There will be no getting up our hill without them I'm sure.
We needed to do school.
Ali had a doctor's appointment.
And we had homegroup.

Soooo.....

We took an outing.
To Les Schwab.
In the spirit of an educational field trip.
You know, Jason did contribute to the DNA of those kiddos so there is a good chance that they will need to familiarize themselves with said store.
Anyhow,
we just packed up school and went to town.
Reason # 218 "Why I Love Homeschooling"... portability.
We had to wait for about an hour so that gave the kids time to get some serious work done.
Katie colored.
Emmie ate "copcorn".
I know, Taylor, very, very dangerous.
But I was watching her closely, promise.

And we were educated about the proper installation of snow tires.
It was a good day.

Glasses, Headwounds and The Kitty

Riley got glasses!Isn't he handsome?
He was too excited to hold still and look studious for my photos. So he's looking a little... well, goofy, but still handsome.
-----------------------------------------------
You know I have been without a camera for a few days, this is less than ideal.
A photo happy mama sharing one camera with her realtor husband who needs to take pictures of listings is truly not a good fit.
I think I know what I need for Christmas:)

So, I am making up for lost time...
I just think this picture is cute of all my little love munchkins and it shows off my lovely red couch.
I thought I would try this slipcover out for Christmas.
Ooohhh festive!
----------------------------------------------
This little pumpkin fell off of the chair at grandma's this morning and cut the back of her head pretty badly.
Poor thing!
Good thing I wasn't there.
I don't handle that kind of thing very well.
Mom said the whole back of her head and hair all the way to the ends was saturated with blood.
Mom can handle those types of things, she used to be a nurse.
Katie is doing fine.
She is so tough.
But still, poor thing.
-----------------------------------------------
And on another note...
It is sooooo unfair that my wonderful, lovely, handsome, kind, giving, hardworking and sometimes fair husband won't let us get a cat.
My girls need a cat.

This adorable cat showed up on our porch the other night.
I cannot express the excitement.
"Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty."

And the tears and pounding on the door when the kitty left:(
How can any man in his right mind not be moved by that?
Those girls needs a cat.

Only Crazy People Do This Kind Of Thing

Sunny and I.
We are just two crazy peas in a pod.
We braved the madness this morning together.
I was at her house to pick her up at 4:30 am on the nose.

We headed straight to Wal Mart.
We did not go to Starbucks first, that was a terrible mistake, clearly I was still too tired to correctly navigate the car.
We waited in line for an hour because Wal Mart price matches on Black Friday of all the crazy things.
So we waited while our 16 year old, sleepy-headed checker manually keyed in price adjustments on 80 billion Christmas gifts.
An hour!

Next stop?
Yep, you guessed it...Starbucks!
We began to feel much better.

On to Target.
Now, Target has Black Friday down to a a science.
They have traffic control for their check out line.
They even had stuff where it should be ie: toys on the toy aisle, clothes in the clothes section (not so with Wal Mart).
We were out of there, gifts in hand, in no time.

Next up Kmart.
No good.
They had already sold out of all the good stuff.
We left there empty handed.

And finally Big Lots which was by far the fastest.
There was no line at all.
Success was had here.

The last stop I made was to drop Sunny off at work.
Awful!
She had to work after that exhausting shopping extravaganza.
The thought of it almost makes me feel guilty about the nap I'm going to go take after lunch.
Not guilty enough to resist though.

Anyhow, it was worth it.
I am nearly done with my shopping and Christmas is still a month away!
I will not be out there at midnight the 24th with all the slackers.

Uggghhhh!

I am full.
I really like Thanksgiving food.
Actually, I like it too much.
I feel like I am prepped for hibernation.
But, oh no, there will be no long winter's nap for me.
I will be waking up at 4 am for shopping.
Gotta get those deals.
